A GENTLE REAWAKENING
April has been a beauty here in Somerset, that unmistakable shift in the air bringing longer evenings, brighter mornings, and the welcome return of blossom and bunnies in the garden.
After the slower, quieter rhythm of winter in the studio, this month has felt like a gentle reawakening. I’ve been finishing a body of new work that feels fresh and in tune with the season.

IN THE STUDIO
I’ve been working on a small collection inspired by folk art, minimal geometric pattern and shape, and local fauna. Being surrounded by wildlife is a big source of inspiration for me; the ongoing cycle of life brings a quiet sense of comfort amid the noise of daily routines.
I had hoped to have these pieces finished and photographed by now, but I seem to underestimate how long these things take. That said it feels like the perfect time to capture them, so I should have more to share very soon. Here’s a little peek at two of the works in progress.

Spring often brings new ideas, and I’ve been having some lovely conversations recently about bespoke pieces. If you’ve been thinking about a custom quilt, whether for your home or as a meaningful gift, this is a great time of year to begin the process.
I love collaborating on designs that feel personal and connected to a place, memory, or feeling. You can simply reply to this email or get in touch to start the conversation.
INSPIRATION
Over the spring holiday, I spent a week in one of my favourite places, West Dorset. I’ve loved the Jurassic Coast since childhood, and this time I explored a few places that were new to me. Here are five inspiring spots along this dramatic coastline:
▶ West Bay holds a special place in my heart. Dramatic cliffs, crabbing in the harbour, and coastal walks make it the perfect day out.
▶ Lyme Regis has a bit of everything: fossil hunting, fish and chips, a sandy beach, and charming independent shops.
▶ Abbotsbury is worth a visit for the centuries-old swannery alone. See the elegant birds nesting in the lagoon, followed by a wander through the subtropical gardens, and sunset on Chesil Beach.
▶ Portland’s sculpture trail is full of incredible works carved from Portland stone with sweeping views across to Chesil Beach. Follow with a visit to the Bill to see the historic lighthouse and Pulpit Rock.
▶ Bridport is a small market town with a brilliant arts scene, a lively market, and some excellent places to eat.
